The Best Chemical Peel in Buffalo is at Anna Elizabeth Esthetics

When you come in for a GetGlowing Skin Peel, your service starts with a traditional facial where we’ll cleanse and prep the skin for the peel procedure.  Once the peel is applied, it needs to sit on the skin for an hour.  When your hour is up, we’ll wrap up the service by applying a serum and sunscreen to protect your skin.

Stages of peeling after a peel

This treatment encourages the exfoliation of dead skin cells and debris while stimulating the skin’s natural renewal process.

So, it is important to note that for about a week-two weeks following the procedure, your skin will undergo a renewal process as it begins to lightly shed its dead outer layer. Depending on your skin, you may or may not experience substantial peeling. If peeling occurs, it usually begins four to five days following the treatment and lasts for approximately one-two weeks. Peeling is dependent on client’s own skin and can not be determined specifically. In addition, you may experience mild itching, dryness, and redness.

With each additional Micro-Peel procedure, you will notice incremental improvements in the overall appearance of the skin.

Ingredients We Love

The active ingredients in the GetGlowing Skin Peel are really what set it apart from other chemical peels on the market.

It contains Resorcinol, Kojik Acid and Salicylic acid.  Here’s how each of those benefits your skin:

  • Resorcinol works by breaking down rough, scaly or hardened skin and is used to treat acne, eczema, psoriasis, seborrhea, photo aging, solar keratosis, epidermal atrophy and improves skin tone and unevenness.

  • Kojik Acid works on melanocytes interfering with the production of melanin. It has excellent skin-lightening abilities and is classified as an antioxidant.

  • Salicylic Acid is used to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis, acne, oily skin, blackheads and whiteheads. It directly dissolves the keratin plugs to regulate the skin cells acting as an exfoliant. Salicylic acid improves collagen production and thickness of the skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties.

  • It’s called a micro peel because it’s a medium depth peel, as opposed to a strong peel. A strong peel penetrates deeper into more layers of the skin at one time. This is a more aggressive approach that requires downtime after the service as you will experience visible peeling. A micro-peel doesn’t go as deep, you will only experience moderate flakiness and it doesn’t require downtime. You’ll be able to go out in public without experiencing red, peeling skin.

  • Results will vary depending on the condition of your skin when you first come in, but yes, in general, many clients see an improvement after one session and need up to 6 sessions to realize their full results.

  • We recommend spacing your GetGlowing Skin Peels two to six weeks apart.

  • The goal is to resurface your skin which will result in some peeling and flakiness on a cellular level. Dryness is common while peeling. Your esthetician will recommend proper aftercare and products to help alleviate dryness and to heal and nourish the skin in the process of rebuilding healthy skin.

  • Always wear sunscreen and avoid using harsh exfoliants between peels. Your esthetician will recommend the proper after care to assist in achieving your desired results.

  • If you are interested in starting a peel series, we recommend you start out by booking a traditional facial with us. During that visit, we can assess your skin, learn more about your goals and determine if a chemical peel is right for you. If it’s not, we are happy to recommend a more appropriate treatment plan.
